Alexis Finnie-Jenkins is 21 years old and a Senior Art Practice major at UC Berkeley. She is from and works in Los Angeles CA, more specifically San Pedro. She works in traditional media: graphite, colored pencils, markers, acrylic paintings. She also works with digital software like Adobe Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint, and has basic skill in Unity and Maya.

Artist Statement:
Confidence Series expresses female self-expression that is not represented heavily in the media today and portrays a woman loving herself though told otherwise by society. The series explores loving oneself through paintings that also provide a shared experience amongst people who relate to the figure(s). And portray that my gaze is for myself and not for others, as I try to love my body. Confidence Series consists of 3 self portraits focusing on the body, beauty, and vibrancy.
