Artist Statement:
The theme of this project is surrealism and self-portrait.
Since the coronavirus, daily routines that I took for granted have changed unsurprisingly, and I have rethinked the precious things I had not been grateful for before.
I miss outdoor activities, being with people, and going to see nature. This project implies my desire wanting to go back to normal life, wanting to protect myself from danger, and wanting to do things that I can't really do right now.
Through this project, I want to talk about how unrealistic the reality feels right now, and with my imagination, I tried to express the unreality that contains my aspirations.
Most of all, I tried to reverse the feeling of being powerless about problems I couldn't solve after the coronavirus, and the feeling of losing control of everything.
